🎯 ESSEX SUPER SERIES – WEEK 5 REPORT 🎯
Another fantastic Friday night at the Essex Super Series Summer Grand Prix, with 22 players battling it out in another hugely competitive evening of darts. Every week the standard gets stronger, and with Finals Night qualification edging ever closer, every point is becoming more valuable than ever.
🏆 Rob Good Returns to the Top
After a disappointing 18th-place finish last week, plenty may have wondered if Rob Good’s charge was beginning to fade…
How wrong they were.
Rob reminded everyone exactly why he’s one of the favourites for this year’s title, producing another trademark knockout performance to defeat Rob Edgar in the final and claim his third weekly title of the series.
It really was a tale of the good, the bad and the ugly.
During the group stage, Rob endured a remarkable 50-dart leg and, by his own high standards, wasn’t at his best. In truth, he was probably a little fortunate to get through in third place.
But that’s what champions do.
When the knockout stages arrived, Rob found another gear. His experience, composure and ability to finish the important legs proved decisive once again. Give Rob a sniff in the knockout rounds and, more often than not, he’ll make you pay.
🥇 Winner: Rob Good (£30)
🥈 Runner-Up: Rob Edgar (£10)

👏 Semi-Finalists
Another strong showing from two players who continue to feature at the business end of the tournament.
🔸 Steve “The Punisher” Chandler
🔸 “The Sheriff” Josh Eldridge
Josh continued his impressive group-stage form by winning all of his matches, although he certainly had to dig deep in the knockout stages. His quarter-final against Ant Lyddon wasn’t quite up to the high standard we’ve come to expect from “The Sheriff”, but he managed to scrape over the line and win, only to run into Rob Good in the semi-finals.
As for the other semi-final… let’s just say there were a few interruptions, a bit of stop-start action, and the rhythm never quite got going. It wasn’t my finest performance so we will leave it at that… we’ll done
Robert Edgar! 😄

📈 The Race Tightens
With five weeks completed, the league table is becoming increasingly fascinating.
Every week we’re seeing different players making deep runs, while others are proving just how quickly fortunes can change.
Rob Good’s journey over the last fortnight says it all—from 18th place one week to lifting the trophy the next.
That’s exactly why nobody can afford to relax.
The race for the Top 8 Finals Night places is well and truly alive.
